Based on studentsโ€™ daily mental health check-in, MEandMine tailors games designed to improve self-regulation, enhance focus, and prepare students for learning. Our AI technology analyzes 160 in-game behaviors as students play to detect patterns and identify those silently struggling, ensuring no student falls through the cracks.
Role
We are seeking an outstanding Game Designer with a passion for education technology to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate ensures many difference gameplay features and mechanics in our innovative educational platform work cohesively and engagingly to help keep players entertained and in the learning mode. The Game Designer home in on player experience, world directors and game controls, trying to make them responsive and meaningful to players.
Responsibility
  • Conceptualize, implement, and maintain gameplay systems that achieve a fulfilling flow state, addictive game loops, and a risk/reward balance
  • Developing the storyline, character back-stories, and dialogue, through scripts and storyboards, including any relevant research
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation (such as design outlines, diagrams, and visual mockups) that details the triggers, interactions, and subsequent events of specific features)
  • Work closely with product manager, UXUI Designers, clinical informatics to optimize the player interface
  • Collaborate with back-end team to optimize game performance and data collection.

Qualifications
  • Possess a great understanding of psychology behind games, game levels, level layouts, drawing maps, architecture, and other design areas related to game level design.
  • Ability to break things down into systems and use data to get qualitative information to affect your designs. Required skills: game engine (Unity 3D, Unreal Engine), art software (adobe, Figma, or other visual design, flowchart mind mapping tools)
  • Good understanding of technical implementation within games, scripting languages, syntax, and other basic programming concepts. Required Skills: Jira & Bug Tracking Software, Scripting Languages & Tools (Python, LUA, C#, Unreal Script, Blueprints), Programming languages C++ and Python
  • Basic to advanced knowledge of user interface (UI/UX) in games, 3D art, modeling, texturing, rigging, animation, and other areas of 3D art creation, use, and conversion.
